Electronics Ban Responses from Etihad and Emirates

Etihad and Emirates have responded to the electronics ban issued by the US. (They were spared from the UK's ban.) Etihad's statement says they will enforce the ban by having its passengers check their tablets and laptops when they check-in outside security.

Emirates will be implementing a service to check these devices in at the gate. What this ultimately looks like, however, is still unknown. Will the devices be picked up at the gate at the other end? Or on a carousel? How will the devices be packaged for the flight?

I'm sure Etihad will have to follow suit soon as well to compete with Emirates. It's not a perfect solution, but it helps.
