Is the 10-Country Laptop Ban Just the Beginning?

If laptops in the cabin are dangerous because they could be fashioned into bombs, what makes putting them in a stowaway space under the cabin but sill in the plane any better? This is the question several watchdog groups are asking, though they are largely keeping their concerns limited to lithium-ion batteries combusting and no one being present to catch it in time. While safety must be a paramount concern of airlines and travelers, I'm certain there are certain businessmen who will feel themselves above the rules. What comes of this in the coming months will be interesting.
