Banff National Park

Banff National Park is one of Canada's premier wildernesses. The main attractions of the park are the jaw-dropping lakes.

Lake Louise is the top draw, but it might not be the best option, if you're looking for peace and quiet.

Lake Moraine isn't far from there, but the crowds are definitely smaller, and though the color of the lakes is similar, it offers a different atmosphere.

Peyto Lake may offer the most brilliant turquoise color of all three, but in the end its hard to tell. All three options are spectacular.

The town of Banff is a great place to stay when exploring all these sites. It's located within a quick hike of some of the main attractions and also offers many restaurants and nightlife options.
