Xi'an City Walls

The Xi'an City Walls were one of the most impressive defense systems of the ancient world. They are also remarkably well preserved, and show us today what Ancient China's city wall systems of the past looked like.

At a little over 40 feet high, the city walls are also an excellent way to view the city of Xi'an. Riding bikes is permitted on the ramparts and has become a popular way for tourists to see the walls and the city.
