Yunnan Province is filled with many natural wonders. Tiger Leaping Gorge offers views of cascading waters off Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, as it descends quickly into the valleys below where Old Lijiang rests.

Of all the natural beauty in the region, however, perhaps Shangri-La will always hold the crown of "Eden of the East."

Near Kunming, the Stone Forest is also a site to behold, as well as its nearby lakes.

Near the southern end of the province, the Hani Rice Terraces are a sight to behold, particularly in conjunction with the descendants of the ethnic minority who crafted the terraces over 1,000 years ago.

Toward the western edge of the province, near the border of Myanmar, the Three Pagodas, resting at the foot of Mt. Changshan and the edge of Erhai Lake may be the most impressive site in the entire province.
