Located at the eastern edge of Geumjeongsan Mountain in Busan, Beomeosa Temple is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The temple is named after a legend in which a golden fish lives in a well on the mountain, giving the waters of the well special, magical properties. The temple is also known for its fighting monks who train rigorously in a specific martial arts style that helped repel Japanese invaders during the 16th and 20th centuries.
