Badlands National Park

The beautiful spires and colors of the sedimentary landscape was named badlands by the Natives who lived amidst the fossilized remains of the former ocean basin.

The view of the park can easily be viewed from the car by those passing through on their way to Mount Rushmore or beyond, though there are numerous hiking trails for those who wish to spend a little more time taking in the sights or catching a sunset to see the landscape really glow.
