Long considered a local secret, as out-of-towners usually bypassed it for Deer Valley and Park City, Solitude isn't as quiet as it used to be. Still, at the right time of day, at the right time of season, skiers can still find themselves on a mountain of, well, relative solitude, as they zip down the expertly groomed slopes.

The expert skier offerings at Solitude are quite excellent, particularly the off-piste super-steeps of Honeycomb Canyon.
